Are you just talking about the carpet or everything from the dash to seats?

I've had S1 S2 and S3 the major diffs that I found as far as the actuall body where stuff mount is that the S1 has beams where storage bins are on the S2&3. The S1 doesn't have provisions for mounting rear speakers. The S1 Shifter is further foward than the S2&3.

Hope this helps.

from my understanding everything from the '81-'83 models are exactly alike. except on the '83 12A the oil cooler was moved on top of the oil filter.. just one of mazda's way of saving money i think.

i just did a swap from a 82 into a 83. only small things were different but for the most part it was pretty easy. its just a difference in what model it is i think.

Myself here am adoing an '85 full interior swap into my '78 RX-7 storage bins and all. So far I am at the dash where I am pulling the complete wiring harnest from the '85 GSL and putting it all in my '78. A big project but man it is so beautiful.

Anything is possible!

Sorry to hijack, but did those finned oil coolers on the oil filter stack work well ? I hate the location and fittings of the '81 "under the radiator" oil cooler.

to my understanding i believe that the front mounted oil coolers worked much better and more efficient than those stacked on top of the oil filter tower. the oil cooler that is stacked is smaller and more inside of the engine bay.. and this means more heat.. so it would be less efficient in cooling the oil

Any 81-83 should be the same on the interior with SMALL differences. The speedometer has a different colored needle in the 83 models, and the speedo went to a higher number in 82/83 (if I remember right).
Other than that, it's all the same.
