Interior motor heat

Hey guys I just got my tranny replaced on Friday. Now when I drive my car I feel a lot of heat coming in through the shifter area. Did they maybe forget to put a heat shield back on or something? How do you guys deal with motor heat that comes in around the petals area on the driver side? Are any of you guys experiencing this?

If you pull your shift boot up there is a series of rubber boots under it to block sound and heat.check to make sure they are all in place and not torn.one of the main ones is pretty large and is held down by a plate being bolted to the floor. I've seen this one being cut before to get the trans out.

I cut a piece of hood insulation from an old Caddy to make a sound barrier around the shift lever. It works for that, and heat too I suppose.
