Interior beautification w/pics
I've got more time than money right now so I decided to look for some cheap updates to my stock 85GS. For 10 bucks I picked up a very close paint match for my dark grey interior trim. The sun had bleached most of the trim pieces in the back hatch area so a little paint makes them look relatively new again. What'ya think?
Another goal of mine is to remove the old carpet in the hatch area and use it as a template to cut out another carpet (that doesn't small like 24 years of dirt and grease). I'm also thinking that I would use the template to cut out a panel for the carpet to sit on - to give the trunk area a nice flat appearance. I suppose that means I'll have to get rid of the donut (aka spare tire) since the top of the tire is higher than the level of the hatch floor. Has anyone made something like that before?

Yeah...I was a little skeptical about the "flat black" paint but the colour on the lid is an almost perfect match when you hold it side by side with the piece. The trick I found was to use short bursts of paint. Don't try to get 100% coverage. I think the fact that it's "flat" black helps give it that deep grey appearance.
I hope that helps.
