intake manifold leak

Well I finally fired up my engine today, all of one second. After doing this a couple times, I noticed that I had gas leaking out of my intake manifold.

The reason why is I had to connect a S4 lower manifold with a S5 upper manifold.

The problem with doing that is all but one stud aligns. I asked around and everyone in the second gen forum, and other threads I searched just said to remove the stud and it will be fine.

Well now its leaking around that area, just like I thought it would. Does anybody have any ideas on how I could recreate the clamping presure in that area of the manifold since I cant use a nut or bolt? The area of the manifold in question is where the last nut securing the mid intake manifold at the rear of the engine.

Try silicon on both sides of the gasket, and tighten and let it dry fully. Thats my guess.

I know I should have searched, lol but I had to run off to work. Those helicoils seem pretty cool.

Anyway, I'm confused on how exactly taping in a helicoil is going to help, I have the missmached bolt holes, so why shouldnt I just tap a normal hole, (assuming there is room for one, I'll fine out tomorrow) I guess the heli coils hold better, but that assumes that I have two holes ligned up to put a bolt through, which I dont.

I think I'm missing the idea being presented to me here....

I think the suggestion was made, while missing the point of the offset/misaligned hole pattern. Your best bet is to drill and tap a new hole providing there is enough meat left in the casting to do so. Good Luck!
