Intake gasket Tear! Help!
Hi All,
I was just about to fix the tear in my intake gasket and had a thought. I have used this gasket maker stuff in the past and it worked really well. However, I am not sure about using it to repair the tear in my intake gasket. Man, I hate this paper crap that mazda sells you! Anyways, I am having serious doubts about using it because a buddy of mine said it may be possible to suck some of the gasket seal into the engine itself. That started me thinking that it may be a bad idea.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Go down to the local auto parts store and get a roll of gasket and a x-acto knife and cut a new one out. The roll of gasket should only be like 5 bucks. Don't reuse a cut gasket, you'll be hating it in the future when you have to pull the intake off again to replace the leaking gasket.

A easyer way to make a gasket is take the gasket maker cut out a piece of gasket material the size of what you need then take some sealant and glue the while piece of gasket to what you want to make it for... in this case the intake manifold make shure the entire piece is flush and let it dry... and make shure it stays flush while it dries... then take a little ball ping hammer and tap the edges of the intake manifold and WALLA... the perfict gasket...
