Exclamation installing distributor

I changed the distributor on my 83 tonight. For some odd reason it never occured to me to have it lined up properly. So now I have to find top dead center to install the dist. after the fact. Do I still just align the dot
on the drive gear and the mark on the dist. ???
Thanks,
Bob

Just turn the engine to the leading timing mark, align the tally marks on the dizzy and drop it in.

Thanks for the help, I did search by using "distributor intall". Either I missed it or as demonstrated, I am brain dead. Thanks again for the help.
