Actually the only _factory_ rear spoiler was a one-piece rubber one, with the mounting hardware embedded in the underside. This is an after-market unit, of which there are several brands. Is there any name or brand on the thing that might offer a clue? These were popular Back in the Day, and am sure some here have or had one on their RX...

When i helped the guy peel it off the car it looked original from dealer. The only marking on it. It says 2/83 on it. As in a date. I just need help in figuring out where to drill holes to mount it. I dont want to drill in the wrong place and it look crooked or unsquare.

I always thought the 3 piece was a factory OEM item, part of the IMSA package with front spoiler and Targa band.

Mine came with a paper template to help drill the mounting holes.

Sorry, long gone. But it shouldn't be difficult to make your own, just lay out the pieces on a large sheet of paper, trace out the outline and then transfer the machine bolt attachment points.

The IMSA rear spoiler was a factory Mazda option. The IMSA kit was a three piece kit that consisted of a front bumper, targa band, and rear spoiler. The pieces were available as a package or separately. It originally came with a paper template for mounting hole marking and drilling.

Your best bet is to make your own template out of paper. Be careful when installing the spoiler as it is fiberglass and is prone to cracking on the ends where the screw goes through the tip.Did the seller give you the mounting hardware as well? The tapered screws are specific to this spoiler.

Did some digging in my Mazda literature and in the 1984 RX-7 brochure it shows the IMSA kit as an optional accessory:

I got all the nuts and wahers for the center piece. But the 2 sides i only got a couple screws the others were rusted and had to be drilled out to remove the parts. A trip to the local hardware stores should turn up something. Plus i need to find some new gasket material to seal it back up from the weather

It looks sweet!

Figure out the fitment and template exactly before you finish it. Some work may be necessary to get it to fit.

Agreed.
Optional _US_ accessory. Sold at dealer level (thru Mazda USA it seems, thx to Dave's brochure ) and made in the USA. but not an OEM part from japan. No Factory parts book (in any market: US, Europe/Australia, Japan) that I have offers this part. Just the rubber one-piece rear starting with 1981+
