I'm lost....Damn Holley

Hey guys I have a problem in a 82 GSL 12a non-port w/the RB Holley intake setup the car had been screwed with by other people before hand and the car only has 61,000 original miles on it so i dont know if it's timing an ignitor going down or a fuel starvation! At low idle 1,200RPM th car runs great drives great etc. but, if the car is at idle and you rev it up using only primaries it revs up fine but then pops and sudders like it doesn't wanna go any farther once it hit 6,300RPM and when at idle if you push the pedal to the floor and the secondaries open it dies sometimes for a second other times if you don't get off the throttle it'll die! when by the carb and this happens it almost sounds like the carb is sucking alot of air and maybe theres just not enough fuel pressure from the stock pump...i dunno I really need help with it tho I'll try to get video of the car doing this but otherwise any ideas?

For starters. You can't run a Holley with the stock pump. You need a pump like the Holley Red. It runs at about 7 psi. You will also need a fuel regulator to set the pressure at 6 psi. If you are running the Racing Beat 465 Holley, a good start on the primary jets are 50s. The secondary opening spring needs to be the "nuetral" spring. It will be the one with no paint on it. You will need to run the leading timing on 8 degrees advanced without the vaccum advance. The trailing needs to be on 12 degrees retarted with the vacuum advance. If your timing is set to factory spec, just advance the leading to 8, and the trailing will be on 12. As always, make sure you have no vacuum leaks. Make sure the fuel is clean and free from any trash. New filters are cheap insurance. Holley carbs hate dirty fuel. These basic starting pionts are from Racing Beat's website. Keep checking your plugs to see how the car is running, rich or lean. Then you can change out your primary jets accordingly.

One thing at a time. Fix the fuel pressure first. Fwiw, ignitors are alive or dead, there is no middle ground, why do members keep thinking otherwise?

Ok, first off, is that pic in your sig of your engine bay? Is it your car in your sig (I would assume so). If so, you don't have a holley. Thats the original air cleaner, which doesn't fit a Holley carb and in which case you don't have a holley.
