i'm almost sure i blew it...

That's right. I think i just popped my first motor... 85 in 3rd gear just wasn't that smart of me...

Gsl-se
racing beat header/presilencer
ebay cannon muffler
miata intake filter
2nd gear coil
zoom zoom.. boom boom..

the car still runs, but pretty awfully.. acceleration is gone, and it sounds like i have a vacuum leak now with the way if fluxuates at 'idle'...i think a lost an apex seal, gonna try to confirm in the morning.. so anyone possibly interested with trading me a running motor for a blown 13b and 12a ?

I blew my car up tuesday I think. I traded it for a 73 ford F-100 no p/s or p/b. I drove it over to the guys house and it topped out at 45mph. He said if it still drove like that then it must be the carb or somehting not a blown motor. Where in South Carolina are you?

i took the spark plugs out and turned the car over by hand.. front rotor made 3 pretty even 'pffts' but the rear rotor was only getting 2... i put them back in and tried cranking and it won't even crank now... gonna head to the junkyard monday and see what i can find..

i'm in spartanburg btw, about 20 minutes from greenville..

I feel your pain. Rotaries scream great...right up till you blow an apex seal. I'm on my 3rd engine in one 7.

If you want a beater to have temporaily, Go to the goodwill charity auto auctions. I have bought several rex's there at very low prices. I got my 92 pathfinder that i drive every day for $500, put $120 of stuff like brakes on it, and drove it. My pathfinder was considered an expensive car from there. Its worth checking out.
