I'm about to just sell....

I put in what was supposed to be a good running motor. Now it won't start at all. It will crank but won't start. I have checked and rechecked everything. It gets fuel. It gets oil. It's got everything plugged in. It just won't crank and stay running. I'm just running out of ideas and my parents are coming down on me to get it running and out of their garage.

I'm just totally frustrated.

Basically I am to the point where I may have to sell it. There really isn't anyone around here who could come over and give me a hand as far as knowing exactly what to do and what to try on these motors.

When cranking btw I get two strong cranks and then one crank that bogs down. As if something is slowing the motor at that point.

Well as a feeler what would you guys say to $1500 if I were to sell? Has spare seats, engine(rebuildable), entire intake, and a huge pile of other parts with it.

Givung up huh. Well just recheck spark and timing again. I'd hate to see you pack it up w/o making sure every stone is left unturned.

Pull the plugs and see if they are wet with fuel, if so, it's flooded. Take the lower plugs out, disable fuel and spark, crank it and blow out the excess fuel, throttle fully open while cranking. Clean/dry the plugs, pour a capful of motor oil down each barrell of the carb and try starting again. Make sure your battery is fully charged.

Is this the SE you were trying to get started awhile ago? Is this a used engine you put in? I remember you were having some trouble turning the engine by hand. You wrote it has fuel and oil. How about spark?
