Yes, you could.

I have not seen the specs on voltage peaks on the MSD blaster coils but have used the Jacobs ones in the past. They were some of the only replacement performance coils that had the highest stable voltage output thru out the RPM range.
The easiest upgrade and more beneficial than the MSD coils is the usage of the 2nd gen coil for the leading side of the ignition. You can pick one up from a fellow member relatively cheap and it's a 10-15 minute install at best.

The procedure and info on this is in the archives.
I also believe their is alot of info on the usage of the MSD coils in the archives.

Check the FAQ and look at the DLIDFIS write-up. I did it awhile back to my '83 and saw a nice difference in cranking and overall performance. I used HEI igniters rather than stock and 2 MSD coils for leading ingnition- left the trailing alone.

If you want to be cheap, run 1 Blaster on the leading side, trailing does little.
