ignition problems
ignition problems
I have heard there is a way to hook up a ford ignition box to replace the igniters as mine blew up when installing a set of supercoils and with the cost of igniters this may be a good way to go. I think this is a little better than the GM igniters as I can install these boxes anywhere on the car.
Thanks for the help guys and yes I am new here.

Welcome to the forum Ron!
Check the FAQ for advice on ignition upgrades. They cover DLIDFIS, which I did recently with GM HEI igniters; using 2nd Gen coils; and MDS ignition. I haven't see any threads on using Ford ignition, though.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know what Ford boxes you are refeering to but the GM control modules that guys have used and are using are very inexpensive to buy. Alot of the times the original ignitors go bad because the heat sink paste on the back of them has dried up and no longer allows proper dissapation of heat transfer.
Used ignitors for our cars are pretty inexpensive to buy also. Somewhere always has a set of good used ones lying around.
