Ignition problem

Hi everyone. I am sorry for the length of this but i just have to explain. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
I have been sorta cleaning my car(83 gs 12A) up for the summer and gave it a go at starting last week with no luck. I didnt expect it to start. But after a good inspection of the ignition system i have found that i have no spark, at all. I remember last summer when checking spark i would only have spark on one plug of the rotor. So i would pull both and only one would spark. I cant remember if it was the leading or the trailing that sparked. I would think it would be the trailing that didnt work because the car would not run without the leading, Right?? Anyways i have found that i have low resistence on one igniter, this is good, and infinite resistence on the other, so i need a new ignitior. Now which igniter is Leading and which is Trailing. The one closest to the alternator on the back of the distributor or the other one on the side towards the front of the car?
Anyways i started by having all plugs pulled and all the wires up out of the way exept for the t1 plug and wire up on my strut mount bolt to ground it. I cranked the car and saw no spark. I tryed the L2 wire with the same plug and same scenario, no spark!. Then i thought the plug was not grounded well so i made a wire the wrap around the threads of the plug and then grounded that. Still no spark! I also tryed over and over with different plugs in the wire but no spark.
So i figured id test my coils. Both had 1.3 ohms which is spec. So coils are good, one ignitor is bad one is good. This means i should get spark on at least the leading or the trailing plug for the rotor.
I then checked my 3 fusible links. All good. I have a brand new cap, rotor, plug wires. I even measured resistance an all wires and they were good.
I am really stumped. My car started and ran last season with all the new parts on it. It obviously didnt have trailing igniiton though, i think??? It has just sat over the winter.
My car floods alot and all the plugs have been soaked in oil and gas repeatedly. Is it possible thats all of my plugs(i have 2 spare sets that i tried random ones while i was testing) to be fouled to the point of not even sparking?
Could i have a bad ground somwhere. What should i check. Please go ahead and give me any ideas you have. I appreciate all your answers.
Thank you

wow just wait your from edmonton? Crazy! Me to, anyways the first place to start for you would be to goto the first gen sales section and post that you WTB a j-109 ignitor. I don't understand in your post about how many plugs are actually sparking, make sure you have some dielectric grease on all the wire ends and stuff just to be on the careful side. Besides that I really am stumped...

But off subject, where abouts in Edmonton are you located? Do you goto the local meets? I know those guys could really help you out we got a guru in town that really knows his stuff, just don't give in and take your car into the dealership. Do you have anypictures of you car? What color is it? Maybe ive seen it around. Cya around!

Did you check to see if you have power at the coil terminals? Both the + and the - terminals should have about 12v with the key in the on position and the engine not running. Try putting each of the high tension coil wires near the strut tower and crank. This would rule out a problem with the plugs, dist. cap, or dist. rotor. (see if the coil is making spark). Make sure the connectors that go to the igniters are on good. I believe the igniter near the alt is the trailing and the one in front is the leading. The coil closest to the front of the car is the trailing.
