Ignition Coils Question

I got these ignition coils from Victoria British a few weeks ago. When I went to put them on I noticed that one of them says "Use with external resistor". I know the stock '79 ignition uses an external resistor, so is this coil meant to be for a '79? Both coils came in identical boxes with the same VB part number. The factory service manual says they should read 1.36 ohms across the primary winding, and both of these do. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rich

I figure is if both say what the factory manual show you then they should be fine. Also if you getting it for a 79 and they are for a 79 then you have alot of maching info to use them. I would give them a try and see for my self. I haven't replace any of my coil yet but I will be getting high performance one just to do my trailing since I am using 2nd Gen Coils. However I am no expert on this coils so I would wait and see what someone else say about it.
