Idle problems
I have an 85 GSL-SE. Sometimes the car won''t start unless I pump the gas pedal a few times, which doesn't make sense (fuel injected motor). If I do pump the gas before starting, or I start driving the car before it is warmed up, the idle kicks up to around 1500-1600 rpm. It also has a fairly bad miss when it's cold, but when it warms up it's ok. If I drive the car for a while, and then shut it off for a few minutes and start it back up, the car initially acts like it's going to die, and barely keeps running. After a few seconds it returns to around 800 rpm though.

about the pedal..hmm..its cold here in WA..just help it out a bit..the thing about a rotary engine..especially up here in WA....just wait till it properly warms..up..that means if you have to get up a lil early to warm up the car do so...above 800 rpms is normal while its warming up..these engines are cold blooded...it will go down when its warmed up..its cold up here...you need to warm up the oil...properly..otherwise you will cause long term damage..this is not a piston engine where you can just start it up and go...if you want it to last...just take a few extra minutes..hope this helps..

i agree that it's high, in fact it's stupid for any manufacturer to do so since it's the worst time to do so. but thats stock on a gsl-se and there's nothing you can do about it. What you can do is NOT touch the pedal when you get in and it will in fact not engage the fast idle cam, but it will run rough until it fully warms up.
Reiblegsl-se i would suggest checking out your TPS so it's properly adjusted, (check the FAQ's) pulling your BAC, checking operation and cleaning if necessary, also clean and lube your throttle plates for smooth operation. WD40 is not a lubricant. Make sure the door inside of the AFM (air box) has smooth operation also.
