I'm having a problem with my '80 12A in that when I'm driving, it doesn't want to idle down when I step on the clutch. The engine continues to rev around 2000 rpms and I have to "kick it off" fast idle sometimes several times to get it to idle down to normal. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

Clean and lube your throttle linkage. Also, make sure that the choke linkage is lubed and free to work.
