Smile I Would Like To Buy Some Louvers

As the subject states, I would like to buy some louvers. I had a set on mine and they flew off the car as I was getting on the highway. Not a pretty sight. From what I've gathered reading some of these posts, louvers aren't that popular with the first gen crowd anymore, I just happen to like them. So if anyone here is interested in selling a set of ALUMINUM louvers for an Rx-7 WITH WIPER (gsl-se) please let me know. Just name your price, I'm sure it'll be lowere than what my local mod shop is asking. Pic would be great, but a good description will do. Thanks in advance.

i've got 'em.... they've got their ups and downs. the interior is cooler in the summer, and ya can't see into the hatch so easily. but they rattle and its a bitch to clean the back window. i may consider selling mine(to pay for TII seats), but i'm not sure if mine will work with a rear wiper. they're on an 82 gsl at the moment.

perhaps mine is a gs... dunno. there's parts from darn near every year of 1st gen on my car! i ran out to the parking lot and checked... the louvers sit REAL close to the window. i don't think a wiper would fit under there unless you have something to mount the louvers up and away from the glass.

I have the louvers for the rear glass only, not the side pieces. It came on my car which has a rear wiper. I think I have all the mounting hardware as well.

Since my PM function doesn't work you will have to give me an email Suparslinc@msn.com I will consider selling them.

I dont care for them myself, to 'boy racer' for my taste, but they should be easy to get pretty cheap. I traded a set a few years ago for a used RP presilencer (read that blown out, cheap ***, stainless glasspack) and I still think it was a fair trade.

The ones on the black Rx are exactly the ones I want. The ones on the rear window, not the sides.

im looking fo rthe side ones. hehe i actually saw a perfect set on a nice brown rx7 last year. they were plastic, though, which i dont mind as long as all 3 match.
anyways, i think theyre cool. i like the old school look.
as far as cleaning, thats pretty easyits only 6 screws. 2 thumb screws at the bottom, which when taken out you can lift the louver. and if you dont feel like laying it on top of the car, on the top there are 4 bolts which are easily removed.
heres my car

I've got the original ones from Mazda that work with the rear wiper, but I'm missing the hinges that allow you to clean the window. Anyone have these?

YellowSE:
I can tell you right off that my louvers do not look like the ones you described. Mine do not curve back down around the glass on the sides; they just end right there. Not quite as "stylish" as the ones in the pic if thats your thing. To be honest I took them off because they were too cheesy for my taste but I think the ones above look okay.

Thanks Cabin, but I have the Victoria British catalog and I was hoping to pay less than that. That's why I'm trying to find them used.

Use some dum dum (black stick crap they use for installing windshields and the like). Find each rattle and insert dum dum in a discreet position that stops the rattle.

The louvers should have a peg you can prop them up with while you clean the window. Putting some RainX on there will make it easier to wash any window, louvers or not.

I'm considering pulling off my louvers for a change of pace, but I won't be selling them. Good used ones are hard to find in a condition that I would call good enough to bolt on...

Thanks Mike. Whenever you get a chance to see what the louvers look like, just let me know. If they're the right ones( the ones on the black Rx-7 posted by yayarx7, or similar) shipping and hardware won't be a problem.
