I think i know whats wrong, but looking for more ideas

Well after school today i go out and start my car. As im waiting for it to warm up i turn up the radio. sittin there listening to it pretty loud(800 watt power acoustik amp and 3 10 inch mtx thunder 6000's) when i see my engine stumble, big stumble, so i shut off my cd player/amp and watch as my idle recovers, then drops to 0 and stays there. I get sad but try to start it. Nothing, battery is dead. Have a friend hook up some jumps and the engine rolls over, not fast enough to start because he has a dodge spirit or somethign like that and its battery is the size of my fist. But my car turns over. So im pretty sure whats wrong is my alternator went out. Any other ideas? anyone have one of those 2nd gen alternators or anythign like that?

Yes. Put a 87-88 2nd gen alt, it's 70amps. What year is your car?

I had the same prob too when I had a system in my 82.

Yes. It's direct. You don't need to mod anything.

Itd be a very good idea to run a large gauge wire from the alternator stud to the battery. The SE alternator main wire is designed to handle about 1/2 the power that a TII alternator puts out.Its cheap, easy and safe.
A 2nd gen fuse box is also a good, easy mod and will give you fused points to wire in the stereo components.(plus the stock 1st gen fusible links suck)

Make sure that you get a TII alt if you get one from those years, as the NA one is the same is what you already have (60 amp). You could also go with an S5 (either NA or TII) these are 80 amp. This is what I currently have. The only modification required is a simple wiring change The FD ones will also work, but they require a change of the pulley as well as the wiring mods required for the S5 alts. The FD alts are 100 amp output.
