I think I killed it

Well I took my 79 sa for a spin. I got it up to about 60 in 2nd gear. when i hit the redline the thing poured smoke out. like a smoke screen james bond would have or something. anyway I got back home and it sounded a little different and it was idling at 1500 instead of 800. now pretty much it runs like is has around 20 horsepower at the wheels. It revs very slowly like its bogged up and has to be cleared out real good. and it wont redline in first gear. I only put about a mile on it too.

It already had a bad Coolent Seal so I bet it just gave out the rest of the way. If you check I bet your water level will keep going down.

I would still not mind haveing the car if your price is down some.

I wasn't aware Ford made a 360. I know they made a 302, 351w, 351c, and a 460. Dodge has the 360 and 318 from what I recall.

Yea ford made a 360 from about 70 to 76 or so. It is a great but seldem seen or built type engine. Our 76 F150 had it stock.

We once brought home 3.3 ton of Gravel on the truck and trailer. the engine gronned but brought it home. Of corse we have a ton trans with the " Granny Low" in it.
