i think i just brought it back to life...

well. i've been messing with my ignition and carb now for awhile trying to get er back in order, since ive been having problems at idle, hard startups, ignition timing wont line up, etc

so today i was just fiddling around and yanked the distributor cap and plugs off of it, never thought to check there before but seems like someone never used di-electric grease when installing the plug wires, and they were probably the stockers. anyways one of the leading connections had corroded into nothing but blue/green powder.

went to NAPA, picked up a new distributor cap and some NGK wires, viola. thing runs like new! i took it for a quick burn afterwards and the power change is amazing, car span the tires like mad when i gunned it off the line (doesnt happen normally). it wasnt sparking before i changed this and the timing was waaaay off which i think ive finally got set right.

gotta love easy fixes when you think you're doomed....

Awesome!!!!

I had a truck the ran like ***...

popped the hood one night on a whim....looked like the frickn fourth of july!!! wires arcing back and forth, wires arcing to round, it was pretty sad!

put some new wires on from the local NAPA (way better than Murray's wires BTW for same$) and Bingo 95% of my drivability isssues evaporated!!

If you want even more spark I've got a 2nd gen coil that is plug and play for your leading if you want, I just want what I paid for it.

The trailing is then run through the leading position on the distributer, thats how it was on my car last season and I really liked it.
