I think it has bit the dust
I think my engine has bit the dust... ok here are the symptoms...
.. the plugs are fouled and wet.
when i crank it over weird gas/mystery liquid come out the leading plug hole.. it has the look and smell of solvent... what is it? is the engine dead? can i clear it out some how?

with the engine cold, crank the engine with the spark plug leads removed.
Then slowly take off the radiator cap. It the system depressurises, (eg bubbles comiing through the overflow bottle), your water seals are gone.
The flooding in that case, is not fuel but water
Try cranking with the spark plugs removed, and the fuel pump fuse removed. That way you can clear out the engine without the flooding getting worse. Do that for a while.
Then clean the sparks, reinstall. Jumper the battery.
Then, when you try and turn the engine over, just keep your foot flat to the floor and crank away.

Is it a manual tranny? If so just get a couple friends and try to push start it. It will turn over faster and be less wear and tear on your starter. I already smoked one starter by cranking and cranking.

fastest way to unflood a rotary imo is to pour a generous amount of MMO down the carb, or in the plug holes and coat each side of the rotors if your injected

If it has the manual choke, you should have it in all the way while cranking the engine and then feather it out and in when you feel the motor trying to catch. Then rev the engine good 'till it smoothes out a touch-then set the choke.
If you want to keep the neighbours from complaining about the smoke show run pipes from your tail pipe into a bucket of water. Kinda like a reverse auto bong.
