I need nuts!

=)

So, over the last "insert long time here" I've taken various parts off my car and moved and so forth. Now I've got nuts, bolts, screws to who knows what parts and I'm not really sure what is the best way to ensure I use the proper hardware to secure the "parts" back on the car. I've thought about hitting a junkyard and removing key hardware, logging their location, but this seems like a more tedious approach than necessary. Any advice? The various manuals didn't really help me either. I guess I can wing it...

There are a number of bolts that needs to be used where they came from. The rest are standard throughout the car. Like the 6MM x 1.0 pitch bolts. These are the ones that have a 10mm head with a large face or washer built onto them.

We should start a list of some common one off bolts and maybe we can more replies and a sticky.

1) Rear. Upper and Lower control arm to chassis bolts. These are all the same but only place they are used.
2) Rear. Watts to chassis bolts.
3) Rear. Watts to Rear end washer and nut.
4) Rear. Shouldered bolts for the fuel pump bracket
5) Rear. Drive Shaft to Flange shoulder bolts
6) Front. Lower control arm to cross member bolt
7) Front. Stay Rod Nuts and Washers
8) Engine. Engine to trans bolts
8) Engine. Alternator pivot bolt

Just start putting it back together, I find that the one that looks like it should be there and fits is the correct one.

When I take stuff apart, I take pictures first, then store nuts/bolts in plastic baggies and write where they came from on it with a Sharpie. Works great! Maybe an idea for next time...
