Ok guys i just took my 83 rx7 to get new uphostry. when i went to check out the car there was this box under the driver seat that was mounted it says clarion on it with some visible wires.. can anyone tell me what this is or maybe the previse owner put it there...

 

You've found one of the factory amplifiers for the stereo... actually, they're usually inside the storage bins, but someone may have screwed with you car previously....

no Just last weekend i removed them from my car, I also have an 83, in our cars there is one under the driver seat, and one in the driver's side storage bin as well. Unless you are still using the factory deck, and leave it in, but if not, just rip them out. I Removed it and replaced it with a nice rockford 300s, and now, i get off work yesterday, and find out my amp, deck and subs got jacked, and boy am i pissed. even worse the brown guy who did it drives a riced out 1st gen integra, I've seen him driving around town, but next time i see him, i'm gonn have to give him a piece of my mind, and my Tire Iron. Punk broke my passenger door lock too.

 

Thats right from 81-'83 there was a amp under the drivers seat, of course if you had the right factory clarion stereo.
