I need help Badd!!!!!!
I just purchased a 1985 12a rotary, for $250.00. The guy that I purchased it from at the salvage said that the engine had no compression. When I get the engine home, I will test it to see if it is carbon locked. But if he tried to start it and this is what he found, chances are that it is not locked. My question is if it is the compression, would the engine have to be rebuilt, or is there something that I can do to get the compression back. This is my first go at a rotary engine. Thanks in advance Johnny
Answered most of this in your other post. If you cannot get the compression to come back, then it will need a rebuild. Try the atf, then post back your results, along with inspecting the exhaust ports I mentioned before.
I got a running 13B engine from an 88 with extra tranny and all the FI stuff attached for $200 CND. Converted it to carb and painted it black and now it runs in my car. Best deal I ever got. Worst was a $700 parts car that I bought for the engine and the engine turned out to be bad. I wasn't even able to get much off the car for spare parts.
