I need help.

O.K. I have a little problem, this morning on my way home from work
I took a right hander a little quicker then normal and the vehicle lost
all power and started to sputter badly.
I pulled it over and looked under the hood and found nothing wrong.
The car was still running so I got it back to work and turned it off.
I again checked under the hood and found that all the vacuum lines were intact.
I started the car and it ran great. I drove it the 30 miles home (at speeds of 80 mph) and had no trouble at all.
Tonight on the way to work I took a fast right and it did the same thing.
All I did this time was to push in the clutch and while I was coasting I turned off the engine then restarted it. Everything worked great.
I could not get it to do it with a hard left.
I am confussed could it be the carb.

Vic

How much gas did you have in the tank each time this happened? It could be simply your fuel pickup in the tank was uncovered as all the gas swept to the left side. Grose jets didn't work out for me. I couldn't get them to seat against the fuel pressure of a regular ol' Facet fuel pump. Had to put the jets that came with the Mazdatrix rebuild kit in to get the gas level line slightly above halfway in the bowl windows.

The Grose jets should hold a higher pressure, did you adjust the tab on the float that moves the jet?The two jets are different lengths and you have to readjust that tab for it to work.

The car had just been filled up and I only drove a couple of hundered feet and the car was fully warm.
I should probably check the floats. I may need to rebuild anyway the car sat under a tree for 7 years before I bought it ( almost had to cut down the tree to get it out).
Thanks for the help I will check out the fuel levels in the sights on the bowls tonight.

You have to adjust that tab to set static float height. Maybe mine were defective, but how could both of them be? I had to rebend the tabs all over again when I went back to the factory jets to re-establish the correct fuel level in the glass. Extreme PIA when you've got all the emissions stuff still on the carb because you need it.
