I just put in some carb cleaner...

and holy **** did it ever make a difference!!!! man there must of been at least 200 tons of left over crap in there! my idle is a lot smoother, my acceleration is a little better and I have less backfires! there was like a cloud of black smoke when I gave a little gas... to anyone that thinks that their carb needs a cleaning.. that 7$ CDN bottle of carb cleaner can be very useful!

yeah dude, carb cleaner works great. I do not believe my 1985 RX-7 GS ever had any carb cleaner go through it, but now since I have put some in, the car runs great.

I wish I'd have tried that before ripping it out for a rebuild.

It went like this... Because the car had been sitting, the engine wouldn't start without me using a windex bottle full of gas to spray into the carb to get the engine going... I didn't think I could put carb cleaner through that way since it tends to make the idle drop and any less than what a windex bottle could provide would probably stall it..

However.. Had I taken my time.. maybe a 1/8 cleaner/fuel ratio in the bottle, I might have been able to unstick it without the headache of taking it off and chasing after my godfather who still hasn't rebuilt it.. Geesh.
