i hope the 79-80 can be done without erasing the gauge faces. i was hoping to put those back in the "stock box".

i wouldnt be too worried about erasing them,
i see complete clusters go for $15.00 on ebay all the time, sometimes even $10.00
its the same guy that sells them so i would just get his e-mail and send him a mail to buy them without a auction when the time comes to put the stock back in.
thats only if you wanted to put the stock back in,
maybe for selling reasons?

you could yank a junkyard set as well. Erase those erase and then swap in the hole cluster. Thus, no down time for the seven

Or up the junkyard one in the stock box, since you know your's works, and the junkyard one might be screwy...

well, see if it is necessary to erase the 79-80. my reasoning is i'm keeping all stock parts so i can sell it as a restoration project to someone down the road.

Now, I am excited. Did he send in the 125 or 85 MPH speedo or both? Is erasing still part of the deal?

I sent in BOTH, (Cause I am COOOL, j/k) But I did send the 79 cluster, and the 80 speedometer...... I have no clue about the erasing part....... I was hoping, he would just make new plastic, and have them on there... That would be his best bet.... I hope it is that way, but if he has to erase them, so be it... THANX LATERZ, Andrew

ok everyone relax,
i found the 80 speedo,

had to dump out the box,
it was loosly pakaged in there.

also for the record.

anyone that has a 79-80 setup i sugest upgradin to a 81-83 setup,

it looks like it is the exact same size and you get these benifits,

a speedo that goes to 130 "if you have an 80"
a functional volt meter that works all the time
an oil pressure gauge "just need the sensor
bright and rear defrost indicators
a nicer layout "IMO"

The '79 is best of all...especially if you're running gauges already for oil pressure and volts...IMO...
