I feel not that smart. HJeres my real problem

Well i finally got time to go work on my car some more. and im not getting trailing spark, in my other thread i said leading and i didnt realise it until all the answers were about the msd. The msd shouldnt affect the trailing spark so i should be ok. Ive tested power to the traling ignitors plug and it has power. So is my ignitor shot or is there any other ideas out there?

Ignitor, or coil would be my guess. Of course if it is the ignitor then you wouldn't get power to the coil.

Well i went and changed ignitor and got nothing. So i completely unhooked my coils and rehooked them up and now i have full spark on all 4 plugs. Now my battery is also to low to do alot of cranking but it still didnt start. Hopefully once i charge her up itl start

You could always push it off to get her cranked. I hope that you have gotten it solved though.

try running a wire directly from the battery + to the coils + terminal. unplug the pigtail from the trailing igniter. run new wires from the coil to the igniter. In the igniter, the male connector next to the pigtail clip is the negative. if that helps, then you have a problem with your wiring.

have you had to pull dizzy recently during this project? if not and timing is all the same then i would guess from cranking without spark the engine could be possibly flooded or just not wanting to fire b/c of built up crap. Where at in MI are ya?

thats very odd considering that both coils are getting voltage from same wire. yes, you can wire it directly from the battery's +

just thought of something how do you planning on killing the engine with the coils hooked up directly to the battery, once it gets running?

I Live in Lake, Michigan 48632. Its like 2 and a half hours north of detroit as the 7's go. We pulled the cap and rotor multiple timse, but put it all back. I noticed there is some play in the cap thou. Itl slide a mm or 2 in each direction even with the clips on. Could that be cause for issue?

hmm shouldn't be. I'm just wondering if your timing is set properly. dumb question you made sure you put cap on correctly and plug wires on correctly right? and have you tinkered with carb intake recently that would lead to problems other than spark? if not then i would just triple check everything over, sometimes **** gets backwards
