i am in mourning.. but it is time to part

i checked today, and i definatly blew a water seal. and since i just bought another first gen, i donot have either the time nor extra money to rebuild this pupy.. so i guess it is time to part it out. (i know that this should go in the for sale section, but i wanted it to start here).

body is a79 in decent shape. no rust, minor body damage. motor is a street ported 4 port 13b (rx-4 style). full racing beat dual exhaust. everything else (interior, tranny, driveshaft, wiring, etc...) is from an '80. brand new radiator (less than 50 miles on it), and other random stuff..

if you want something, or preferable the entire car, let me know.

why you dont sell the hole car instead. by the way you describe is in nice shape, ex for the body damage.

i would love to sell the car as a whole..that would actually be my preference, but i was not sure if anyone would want it now, with the motor as is. i had a buyer for it, but that was when the motor had no problems.. just blew the seal yesterday..

the car is awsome. ran wounderful. and except for the dent in the rear driverside corner (an the paint), it was in nice shape.

If it was me, I'd pull the motor apart and throw in some new seals. Only cost you a gasket set and a day or two - assuming the water o-ring groove didn't crack.

I'm with nimrod on this one. Seems to be a shame when all it needs is a gasket set. There not terribly expensive either.

If you're will ing to part the car out anyways, it won't hurt to crack the block and check it out. If all you need is a gasket set, then you're laughing. I certainly wouldn't give up a 4 port 13B without a fight Give the girl another chance, there aren't many '79's left.

When I priced out a gasket set for my 76 13b it was $110 from atkins...
