How/Where does a Mariah airdam mount? What all does it replace?

Ok, Im confused as to the way you mount an air dam. On my 83, I have some bumper damage, and I want a new bumper anyway, so I was thinking of going with the Mariah Mode 4 airdam (or something similar, just not stock). My question is, how much of the bumper does it actually replace? The damage I have is on the part of the bumper with the black rubber stripes right on the corner of the bumper where it wraps around onto the fenders. Will the Mariah airdam cover/replace that area? Or does it mount below that? Also, I noticed that on that silver car they show on their website, the airdam seems to be molded into the fenders, is that necessary? I dont know fiberglass myself, and I dont want to have to pay a shop to do it, so I was thinking that I could just bolt it up and be done (and still have it look decent)...Right?

PS - Anyone have one of these (or another airdam) for sale at a reasonable price? Or does anyone have some good pics of the install process?

First, your complete bumper shell must come off, then you have to take the metal support that your shell was attached off and leave only the bumper shocks intact. The Mariah Mode four bumper comes with an aluminum support bracket that must be mounted in place of the stock one. So, in other words your complete front bumper has to come off. The Mariah Mode 4 will replace the complete assambly. There is some drilling that you have to do to the aluminum piece that comes witht the fiberglass bumper. Once you attached the aluminun support piece to their specifications, then the bumber in inserted into place and rest on the support beam, and it's ultimately attached by screws on the inner part of the fron fenders. I have it on my car and it is a bit of work involved taking the original parts off. But once that is done is just a matter of following their directions. Well worth the minor troubles....

I agree with jose,,i doesn't HAVE to be molded on.
the side marker lights up front come off,and some trimming has to be done on the sides of the air dam /
bumper,,the hardiest part is cutting and drilling the
bumper shocks,,when i installed my mode four i used
rubber washers/o-rings where ever a bolt went,to
soft mount it,because fiberglass doesn't like tension. like corvettes,,they get those spider web cracks in the finish.
