How to tell if its streetported
Ok, I have been working on this rx7 for quite some time now trying to get it pretty and roadworthy, anyhow I know it has had some things done to it, and it seems quicker than what you would think it would be stock. I know it had a header or housinger or whatever you would like to call it, it has an electronic distriubutor etc and is just a 79 sa. I still say there has been other things done to it, but dont know how to check and see or if there is even a easy way to tell. Is there an easy way to tell if it has been street ported or what not? Thanks. K.C.

brap brap?? It kinda sounds like it has a cam when it idles, which at first i though was a miss, considering rotarys dont have a cam..... but i realize now that its not missing, it runs... pretty great actually... what am i looking for once the manifolds are off? any pictures?

that's a race exhaust porting, it might be hard to tell if you've never seen/felt one stock. If all else fails you can always measure and compare to stock specifications.
Also, does it still have the nikki?

No correlation but the sterling is a great idea.
if you pull the manifold the upper edge where the port turn 90 and enters the rotor cavity is sharp OEM. they relieve it to street port the intake. there is also bridge porting just to fool you
As jdjl1987 pointed out people also port the exhaust
PS pulling the manifold can get very wet if the coolant passage has not been plugged
