How To: store my rx7
ive got an 82 gsl with the mods in my signature. my radiator seems to have a crack in it so starting it every few days this winter isnt going to work. i started it today, and let it warm up, maybe for the last time this winter. i live in bloomington indiana, its pretty cold now....but a week ago it was 75!!!!!
i want to know the steps on how to like, drain the fuel/maybe disconnect the fuel line? and any other steps i should take to prepare for not starting the car for a pretty long time. i dont want it to flood. is there anything else that can happen while its off for a while?

Do a search in this forum and you'll get vast quantities of information on this.
In a nutshell, here's what I do.
First I cry because the driving season's over.
Then I:
Change the oil. Fill the tank to near full (for expansion factor) and pour in stabilizer. Let this run through to the engine. Clean out any crap/salt where/if necessary.
Put the car up on blocks (some don't; I do- even though I once fell through a barn floor trying-ahem...)
Remove the battery. Remove the air filter and put rags/wire mesh into your air horns/snorkel to keep pests out. Same goes for the tail pipes. Spray silicone (sp?) on the door, hood, sunroof, and hatch rubber gaskets so they don't stick in the spring. Spray more silicone into the locks. Lock her up and walk away...
Cry some more while driving home or bar in your winter beater.
I don't run the car at all during the storage period. Keep the battery warm and charged (trickle charge). My '83 stock has always started right up first try every spring!

I've never heard of such a thing. Is it possible that your fuel pump is still running due to a short or ground fault? Do you pump the pedal before you crank? All I do is turn the ignition on for approximately five seconds and then crank the engine with the choke pulled out. Starts every time.
