short block or long block??

if its just the core then its gona about $100-$200 depending on who you go to.

at least thats what i payed for for my 12a...NY to GA ( i payed $100 for shipping but it was actually$197 for the shipping...and i only payed$96 for the engine... so the guy lost a buck in the deal...kinda feel sorry for him)

The standard shippers, UPS, FedeX, DHL, or a private company ?... Because of the weight, i'd say around $ 250.00 dollors US. build a wooden ' crate', build it strong like a pallet. and so a forklift can pick it up. you may want to try to use the lifting tab on top of the engine somehow.

I shipped a complete 13B 4 port from CA to NY for about 250 through DHL.Weight was around 300lbs.
Get a small pallet and cut out a notch so the oilpan sump will fit into the gap between the boards.Or just pull the pan and run it flat.A few strings of heavy wire to each corner of the engine to the pallet, twist tight and cut.Or use a few LA county handcuffs(really large zip ties)
Then cut up a large box to enclose it,and label, "This side up,do not stack"
Worked great for me.

Remove oil pan, put block on a pallet, secure the block to pallet along with the oil pan on the side, take it to a trucking dock of your choice like yellow freight and have the other person pick it up at his nearby terminal. Almost any trucking company will do it and it is a lot cheaper going terminal to terminal. There are plenty of websites that you can request quotes from online also btw.

Don't forget to remove the oil pickup or you'll be screwed.

These guys will be the cheapest for you.

R + L Carriers

I've used them to ship an engine for rebuild. Pick-up and drop-off at the dock for the cheapest price.
