how to register a unregistered alberta car in B.C.?

right now i'm starting a new project, for many reason's i am deciding to stick with my GSL-SE i originally bought as a parts car and have since reversed my decision and the GS is now the parts car, which is a entirely other story.

problem is, i bought this car from a junk yard after they got it from a auction. the car has no papers whatsoever. so i need to register it here, in B.C.

from what i've read about this before, atleast in Canada i can get away with just having a vehicle safety inspection done than i am able to transfer it to my name, however with a salvage title or whatever.

anyone else tried this.. in canada?

im going through somthing similir in bc right now, basically you have to get ahold of whoever the registered owner is right now, they can go to icbc and get new papers made up for 17$ and then everything can be signed over. the lady at icbc told me that if i didnt have the papers there was no insuring it. if its still under someone elses name.as for alberta to b.c it has to go through the out of province inspection. Then its good to go
Good Luck!

hmm, but what if there's no way of tracking down the original owner?

unfortunatley theres not much you can do.try talking to the insurance company to see if theres any possible way. its going to be hard to even find out who the original owner is. i ended up getting a number from icbc, i called them gave them the vin and they cant give out any information about the previous owner.. it may just have to be a parts car.. sorry
