How much you pay insurance for your first gen

Anyone in California? It seems a bit high from my quotes about 500 every 6 months but im 21 a 3.9 student, never had any crashes, 2 tickets in last 3 yrs, no serious violations. the fact im 21 kills it, i drive like im 25 but they dont know that...

Hmm, not too bad, considering I've got multiple tickets in the last two years, two crashes, and I'm 20, and I'm only paying 130 a month. . . .

I pay 1,500 a year for liability only. I'm a month away from 18 and have never been at fault in an accident, filed a claim, or even been pulled over.

That's almost half of my income. I pay the same or more in gas every year. So there goes all of my money. *sigh*

Rusty, the way the insurance company sees it, it is only a matter of time before you have an accident either due to your age, inexperience, or condition of vehicle. And they have the data to back up their viewpoint.

Be careful. Until the age of 40, auto accidents are the leading cause of death and injury, that is unless you are an inner city afro american, policeman, fireman, soldier, or late night convienence store cashier.

I just bought my first gen. the ensurance is 50$ more than the van i blew the head gasket on. I know i went from a van that seats 8 to a car that seats 2. At any rate i think Me with 1 or 2 recks and about 3 or 4 tickets under me right now and my GF has 1 reck and 1 ticket we pay about 800 every 6 months. I'm 26 and she just turned 20. I think that it is a good deal because it is a sports car. just No fault insurance right now ... all min for GA. but i don't plan on having any thing else on my driving record.

I know all about how insurance works, and I know the clock is ticking until either I screw up or somebody else screws up and my RX-7 has to pay the price. I know why I have to pay so much money, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Unlike many people my age I am well aware of my own mortality, which is why I do things like stop at yellow lights (oh my gosh!) and use my turn signal (holy crap!) and look both ways before getting onto/crossing busy streets even when the light is green (no way!). It is also why I am spending at least $1000 on a quality seat, harness, and roll bar.

I have no way of getting my car back if I wreck it. If I'm at fault and my car is totalled, it'll probably be the last RX-7 I get to drive until I'm out of college. Trust me, this is always on my mind. I'm not saying I'm THE exception to the insurance company's pile of data, but I damn well try as hard as I can to be.

I'm 18 and right now I'm paying just under $2,000 Cdn. Getting a little off topic, when I first got my license I was driving a 1996 Chrysler Cirus (POS) and I was paying $4,000 a year (If I had the car under my name it would have been $5,000). Anyway, when I got my 7 my parents sold the car to my cousin who got her license around the same time that I did. She put the same car under her name and she was paying nearly half of what I was paying. A couple of months later she hit a pedesterian. The guy actually went over the hood and hit the windsheild (although she tells me he wasn't seriously hurt, and that it wasn't her fault). When her insurance was updated, her premium went up to $3,500. WTF! somehow they figure that a girl who has already gotten into a semi-serious accident is $1,500 less likely to get into another accident than I am. What a load of bullshit!

Since I turned 21 I only pay ~$320 every 6 months. It dropped over $200 when I turned 21. I have State Farm insurance. I don't know what all I have, but I know it's more than the basics. No tickets. No accidents.

Im 21, I have one speeding ticket that will come off this year, and I paid $88.21 a month for liability on my TII with Allstate. On my bill it says that because of the ticket I pay a $30 fee monthly for the ticket, so I should only pay $58.21 a month, not too bad.

With my allstate agent, I was told no matter what car I drove, be it a festiva, to a Modena, my liability rate would never change. I haven't bothered to check into full coverage yet, and probably will not until I am 25 or 26.

Your rates didnt come down slightly when you turned 21? Mine did.

I used to pay ~$125/mo for full coverage with state farm...I'm 24, I have a perfect driving record, and I live in a horrible county to insure a car. If I lived about ten miles to the west, it would be about half that, my car wouldn't be checked for emissions, and registration fees would be ~$40 less every year.

$39/ month liability. 23, no tickets, nothing. The only problem is that it's pretty populated here. And most people in VA can't drive for ****.

My insurance is $100 per month, but that is with my Jeep on the insurance as well. Its about $45 dollars for my 7 and $55 for my Jeep per month. That was after two tickets, only one is still on my record as I just got another one this past Saturday.

I pay $74 a month roughly, for liability. It made a big difference with what company I used, and how old I am. I used to pay like $130 when I was 18. I am 20 now. I'm with progressive because they're cheap now, if someone is lower in 3 months, I'll go there, I have no pitty for insurance companys.
