I'm trying to find an 12a short block running or not. I'm just going to tare it down to streetport it. Anyways how much should I expect to pay for a non running short block or even a running one? I found some but they are asking $300 for a short block in unknown running order.

well i paid 250 for my SE motor in unknown condition... luckily it was in immaculate condition, but i don't think what i paid is very normal... mine was a long block too... but i think atkins gives like 100-150 for a 12A short block

I have one that ran before I took off the carb. If you want it, shoot me an offer. I have to get rid of this stuff. How do you ship an engine? I know freight is cheaper, but how do you do that exactly?

(IanS) I use fedex frieght for shipping motors. Just strap them on a pallet and send them on their way. I'll let you know about the motor, there is a local guy I get parts from sometimes and I want to see if he has one before I get one shipped. Thanks for the idea on price range Elysian.

Buy a parts car for 100 to 200 dollars, it always seems to work out cheaper that way.

For a motor, i'd pay about 100 non running, 250-400 running depending on how well.
