300 hp without a lot of clutch dumps at the track, torque, maybe around 250, best guesstimate. You'll need to do some serious forced induction to get an SE engine to push the limits of the rear end, discounting wear, age and metal fatigue of the diff and axles.

Weld it up and it'll handle the jandal. Then your gearbox wont...

Your lucky i've got a ****** lightweight SA rearend! I'm scared to drop the clutch haha!

A 5.0 is gonna have a hell of alot more torque than the 13b it replaced, and the torque is what really puts the stress on the rear axle.

On a side note...don't do a v8 swap.

if your going to do a v8 swap, you will need a 8.8 rear end. the original mazda rear end will not take the torque of the v8 not to mention its harder on the rear end to push around that heavy *** v8.
if you keep the rotary and turbo it it wont make as much torque so it will be fine
