how much do lsd rear ends cost to be rebuilt?
i have an -se rear end here with some pretty shot clutches... i can break them by hand by spinning the axles... i'm assuming that means they need to be rebuilt, i just don't want to spend 400 bucks on something when i could just go out and get a nice new lsd for a little more. anyone else have this done and for how much?

How I tested my LSD was to chock the left wheel (front side) then jack up the right rear side of the car.
Use a torque wrench on one of the lug nuts on the right rear wheel. Now tighten the nut and see at what FT LBs. the right wheel break loose at, any thing less that 85 ft lb (steet) needs to be rebuilt.
I had a friend do mine for $50 plus parts, the local shops want about $250 plus parts.

It all depends on what you replace, really. You can get at least most of the stuff from racingbeat. Last time I priced it out, I think it was $250 for all the seals, bearings, clutchpacks, etc...
