How long do you let your car warm up?

I pull the choke and fire it up, then adjust to around 1500 (my tach may be wrong), then I start driving very conservatively, as was said above. Even after the choke pops in, I still take it slow and carefull untill several minutes have passed. I know the oil takes longer to heat up.

I start it, then beat the **** out of it till it warms up.

if it aint got remote start it aint warmin up.

I wait for the oil pressure gauge to level off before putting into gear.

Then I take it easy until normal operating temperatures.

I think this is fairly safe.

Do the people with manual chokes set the idle at 2000 rpms while there car warms up? Just checking because thats what the maunal says.
