How do I adjust headrests in 85 GSL SE?
Feeling very stupid today. Been restoring a 85 GSL SE and finally have it up to daily driving but I can not for the life of me figure out how to adjust the headrests! Can anyone enlighten me on what I am missing?

Feeling less stupid. After watching several videos of different styles got a key in the base of the headset slots on the side where the notches were and got the headrest where I wanted it.

I just went out and checked mine. They simply lift up and push down. There is no latch or button that releases a catch. There is simply a spring that ratchets on one of the headrest posts (towards the driver's-side). There are 4 positions: fully up, fully down and two intermediate.
What I'd like to know is what you have to do to the spring to get the headrest out of the seat.

A Mini Turorial on GSL-SE Headrest Removal
This post has encouraged me to write a short tutorial on removing the headrest from an SE seat.
In order to remove the headrest, you have to remove the spring that catches the notches of the headrest post. The spring is contained in the plastic housing at the top of the headrest post hole on the left (driver's) side of the seat. You can see the spring if you look into the slots cut into the spring housing.
I found the easiest way to remove this spring is to position the headrest so that it is in between set positions. In other words, the spring is not clicked into a notch.
Take something plastic, like an upholstery removal tool, and push the spring towards the passenger door (to the left in the picture). Cover the opposite side of the spring housing with your hand or a cloth because this spring will jump out when it is released.
Once the spring is removed the headrest will slide out of its guides.
Re-assembly in this case is almost the reversal of removal.
Orient the spring as shown and slide it in through the slot in the right (passenger) side of the spring housing. It should easily snap into place. If not, re-orient the spring slightly until it goes in easily; don't force it against 35-year-old plastic.
Re-insert the headrest posts into their guides and it should click into place.
I hope this helps someone else who has to remove their headrests.
