How can you tell a 6port 13b from a 4port 13b just by looking???

1984 GSL-SE???

if its Fuel injected stock, then its 6 port, thats what GSL-SE's came with.

Well assuming the motor is stock you could look at the intake. The 4 port motors came from the 87-88 turbo II sevenz which will not have the same Dynamic intake as the rest of the 86-91 motors have. The 86-88 have a boxy Dynamic chamber and 89-91 have a more round like chamber. As for the 4 port motors there appears to be no dynamic chamber assuming that the Intercooler has been removed. Aside for that I would have to agree with "Gregs" on looking for the two 5th and 6th port accuators right underneath the instake manifold right above the exhaust manifold. One other thing... look for a turbo oil feed line or a plug on the driver side front housing where a banjo fitting would be.
