How can i unstick a float?

Is there anyway to unstick a float? It's on a holley, not sure what size, it's my bro's 66 catalina, he said he is just buying a new carb, but I knew one of us first gen guys has a few tricks up their sleve for a cheap way to get these things to stop sticking. he is also running really rich, i'll see what i can do about that.

Pull of the bowl and put in a new 20 dollar float, or after you get the bowl off see why the float is sticking and fix it.

You can usualy tap on the side of the carb and it will come loose...if it is realy sticky pull the sight plug and fish in there with a small screwdriver to pop it up.

Any cleaner you run thru it will also run thru your engine...

What kind of holley is it? Most of the square bore carbs you can simply unscrew 4 screws and pull the bowl off the side of the carb. The float is just inside it. Just be carefull about o-rings on the fuel cross over tube. You may also damage the gasket...but they are cheep and most any parts store has them.
