How big of a fuel line??

I have a 2 port 12a with a holley 750 double pumper and holley blue pump. It's open header and has a racing beat intake. Now, I want to run a fuel cell with a hi flow filter. What size line should I run?Is 1/2" too big for this set-up?I eventually am going to go go 4 port bridge on the motor and a lil shot of n2o.What do you guys think for the line? Thanks!!!!!!!!

Gut feeling says way too big...1/2" line supports 7 and 8 second 540+ cid Pontiac V-8s.....I just can't see ANY 12A having that big of an appetite at any RPM....

I've found that the Holley blues don't like to pull fuel very far through a 1/2" line, 3/8" should be fine. If you eventually need more fuel, you will probably need a better pump.

When you put in the 3/8 line, did you do anything with the lines into the tank? I have an '85 GS, which has a plate with three lines coming out of it. The feed line into the tank is the same size as the fuel lines, so just replacing the fuel lines will do no good. So, what did you do about the lines into the tank?

Thanks,
Rich

ill tell you what im going to do about the lines going into the plate, cut out the area around the lines, use the existing, fuel line as the return, weld a 3/8" pipe, down beside it, and make a gslse style surge protector, or splash gaurd, its just the best idea if your going to be doing fast cornering and what not, unless you always have a full tank of gas, then
ill weld the plate back in overtop, its going to take some fabrications skill to do such thin metal airtight, but ill see what i can do,

There's an aviation glue that is preferred to welding on gas pieces that have already been exposed to gas....

Simplest and easiest is to find a GSL-SE tank. If you don't want to switch tanks, just switch the pickup/return assembly. The SE feed line is larger.

Stock feed lines are around 5/16 or 8MM.I run the stock feed line with another stock feed line for the return. Its the same size/style setup as a stock TII car or any other EFI RX-7.
They support my 300hp EFI turbo engine fed by a 400hp capable Supra TT pump in the tank,no problem.

A stock JC Cosmo with a 20B also uses 5/16 or 8mm send and return. My car had three 1/4 lines as send, return and gas tank breather. I converted them all to return lines and added a new 3/8 send line. The inline (externaly mounted) Walbro 255 lph pump I installed seems to like this arrangement.
