housten we have a problem

well, i just took off my stock fan and have replaced it with a e-fan from a taurus..everything goes well and works proper.. i go to start her up, she does as it should but i hear a almost metal on metal squeeling sound..almost like a bad belt noise...i turn her off and look, the wheel where the stock fan hooks up to is touching just slighty at the bottom the top of the bigger wheel underneath it..thus the metal on metal squeeling noise...my questions are this:1)how close are your wheels, because it may have been this close before and never notice although i dont think so..
2)what would cause this
3) what can i do about it
all imput is much appretiated
thx alot
Blake

Did you cut the bolts that used to attach your fan? you should cut them about 1/4"

I don't quite get it... Is he trying to say the water pump pulley is hitting the main pulley? I don't even see how that would be possible.

Pics might help.

Did you remeber to put the bolts back in that hold the FAN/PULLEY? After you take the fan off you need to put the bolts back in to hold the pulley.

I wouldnt use a taurus fan! I would stick with a fiero gt fan. I use a fiero fan and the elec motor died, so I replaced the motor only with a taurus elec motor and the shaft that goes through the middle of the motor is slightly longer and dug a hole into my rad. I had to grind down the shaft and has worked flawlessly ever since . . .
