Hot Start Assist Removal
Ok, i just started removing my hot start assist. My question is, where do i remove the cable at? There is a msall nut on the very end of the cable.. I dont know how to remove the cable.. Also, i pulled on the cable and my engine revved. It seems to be contorlling the throttle.. Can someone give me a run down of the removal procedure? I did a search but couldnt find anything in detail! Thanks alot!

Ok. After you remove the motor and unplug it's power connector, you have to follow the cable to the carb. There, you will find a cable clip that you'll need to remove. A pair of needle nose pliers does the job perfectly. After that, you have to push on the cable, moving it around so that it lines up with a slot in the linkage. Once you've got it lined up, slide it out the side and you're good to go.

Thanks alot. Was very simple.. I should have looked farther down the first time. I didnt know the cable went all the way to the under side of the carb. Thanks

I think its suppsed to open the trottle a bit when you turn the key making it like FI cars, where you don't need to give it any gas. Its useless, even without it my car (when its warmed up already) will start with my foot off the gas. So basically its another stupid thing that Mazda felt it nessesary to put in our cars.
