hot start assist question

hot start assist question

hi
my car doesnt seem to want to start after it warms up.
should i dump the hot start assit system , if i do will the car start ok? or should i try to lube it? wd40 or something.

Pull it out. All it does is pull the accelerator cable when you turn the key. It is meant for the great unwashed that couldn't be trusted to know how to start their new sportscar properly, ie. dummies...change your plugs and see what that does for you. Try two presses of the gas pedal before turning the key...that's basically what the hot start was doing for you when it worked...

It's a goofy piece of metal bracket with a little motor on it on the driver's side fenderwell close to the firewall. A cable from it goes to the carb...

Well mine works and when I went out to find out if it works I discovered that the damn carb is leaking near that cable... ****
