homemade supercharger

just a curiosity here..... what if you turned the air pump element backwards? would this not then be a mild supercharger? i thought of this while helping my dad tech cars last weekend. ive never heard it mentioned tho. im not gonna do this, but i was just wondering.

That pump would be more of a restriction. It doesn't put out enough air for the engine normally, much less enough to create any boost.

Screw the air pump, get a high power leaf blower... intake hooks right up to the end of it too.

someone was saying that a leafblower puts out like 20,000cfm... a supercharger puts out like 200,000 cfm...
