Holley vs Nicki

I have an 81 rx7, stock ported 12a. I have installed the full racing beat exhasut system. I have purchased a racing beat intake and holley 465. The carb needs to be rebuilt, both ebay purchases. Now I have been reading about Sterling and Yaw built Nicki carbs and debating if I still want to go with the Holley set up. I would appreciate any input. Also if I do decide to go with the holley I am looking for some info on setting it up, jet sizes etc. Thanks!

If the Racing Beat intake and RB prepped Holley are for a stock port, than rock on with that. As far as jetting the Holley, you can e-mail Racing Beat with your setup, and they will advise you on the best jet sizes. If you hadn't already bought that setup, you can make a Nikki perform as well, with better fuel mileage. Either way, you will get better performance.

As long as the carb has been prepped by Racing Beat, you should be okay.

On the other hand, Sterling carbs rock!

You could get a carb spacer and cut a channel connecting both primary runners. This should enable you to use an out of the box Holley on a rotary.

I'd personally go with a Sterling because even Nikkis with stock venturis are pretty good. Sterling's have been increased from 20mm to 24mm for excellent flow. The driveability is better than any Holley (as far as I know).
