holley vs ida

howdy i have a problem im going to put a 13b (most likely a 4 port) in my series 3

im keen to go with the carbie but not sure which one
the majoritie of rotors ive seen run the 48ida but as these retail for about $1300 im looking at some other options, ive seen some guys running the 4 barrel holley carb.

so my questions are

-what holley would be ideal for a street port, 4 barrel, 2 barrel?
-round about what cfm do you need?
-is the holley performance the same as the ida?
-does any1 know if a webber idf would be a better option?

cheers for any info

i run a holley 600cfm on a 6 port street ported 13B... replaced the fuel pump today, and now i don't have the problem i had before of beating the fuel pump... i don't know how a IDA performs to compare, but i know my holley equipped 7 is stupidly fun... 1 problem most have but i have yet to notice is when u take hard turns the fuel sloshes around in the barrels and causes it to get stupidly rich... i'm not sure if its the brass floats in mine or what, but mine doesn't seem to do this....

holley carb for streetport is 600cfm. the webber's, dellorto's, and mikuni's have, in my experience, pretty much the same power at WOT, but the holley will yield slightly better gas mileage than those big 2bbls at normal cruising and city driving.

Being in Australia, you might get a very similar price for an EFI solution, and much better drivability than any carb.

yeah to your question im trying to keep the car with the old skool theme so big ports and large carbs are the way to go-but you are so right efi is the same price i can get my hands on a half cut of a twin turbo 13b out of a batty for 4k-but ive had fun with a twin turbo vr4 that ate sti's and skylines i just want something retro now
