Thanks man.
Looks like it's made for holley bolt pattern.

That's a Q-jet you've got, right?

I was refering to your carb. Its a Q-jet?

I was looking at the mounts on the nikki and considering making something similar to that out of AL plate. It has to be really long though or it would be impossible to reach the adjust screws.

I've had mine mounted on the firewall since I got it and autocrossed with two different organizations and never had an issue. Maybe it's a dragstrip/road course issue. Aside from the super serious autocross organizations I doubt anyone would reallly give you trouble with it. Most of the time they are making sure the car is fit to drive the course. Brakes are working, no leaks, etc.

I really like that bracket. Next time I'm out messing with the car I'll see if there's room for me to mount it there. I made a mount out of stainless sheet that sits towards the passenger side of the hood latch and just did a quick cut and bend job. It serves the purpose but isn't pretty. In fact aside from the grease, I'd say it's the ugliest thing under my hood.

Guys, the already made to fit bracket for the FRP is so much easier, so much quicker and just $25 bucks..
Do what i did buy the bracket and make a template of it, THEN make a bunch and sell them...Just avoid the fuss, buy the bracket OR make it like you so much want to and keep it off the firewall...that way you pass tech no matter where your at, if they check for it or not...

The problem w/ the jegs bracket is it won't fit the nikki. I'm thinking of copying that design and using nikki bolt spacing.

However..it does require a few refinements. Good thing I didn't make too many...

Sits nice in the engine bay but needs to be 1/8" longer and the relief for the spring needs to move back @ 1/16 and should continue up rather than be an oval.

Blah.

I'm going to design a 3/16 plate version of the JEGS part that will fit NIKKI.

Would anyone be interested in that?
